A festival event in Cologne: a meeting place for creative exchange, discussion, discovery and inspiration

Since 1991, the FILM FESTIVAL COLOGNE has developed into one of the most important media and cultural events in Europe. As a platform for current international film and series highlights, the FFCGN promotes creative exchange as a central industry meeting place and opens up spaces for discussion, discovery and inspiration. The 35th edition of the FFCGN took place from 9 to 16 October 2025 under the motto ‘The Time is Now’. The ‘Cologne Film Prize’, endowed with 25,000 euros and sponsored by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the City of Cologne, has been awarded in recent years to David Lynch, Jane Campion and Lars von Trier, among others. In 2025, it was awarded to Werner Herzog. Our collection brings together feature films and documentaries from past festival editions as an invitation to rediscover, immerse yourself and think ahead.
